Most of the laborers who built the Taj Mahal were Hindus from Kannauj. While masons, stone cutters, carpenters, painters and other artisans belong to Mughal Empire, Central Asia and Iran. Laborers were called from Pokhara for the carving of flowers, not only this, the chief architect of the building was Ustad Ahmed Lahori. Along with this, Ram Lal of Kashmir was given the responsibility of making the garden for the builder.
