Rs 2000 notes: As of July 31, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reported that around 88% of the Rs 2000 banknotes, which were withdrawn from circulation in May, have returned to the banking system. The total value of Rs 2000 banknotes in circulation as of the mentioned date was Rs 0.42 lakh crore. This data indicates the significant impact of Reserve Bank of India’s decision to demonetize the high-value note and its progress in managing currency circulation.
