Micron Technology and AMD to Boost Chip Manufacturing in India

American company Micron Technology, a semiconductor manufacturer, is set to establish India’s first chip manufacturing plant in Gujarat with an investment of $2.75 billion. Additionally, another US-based semiconductor company, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), has announced a $400 million (approximately INR 3,300 crore) investment in India over the next five years. These initiatives are expected to create around 20,000 jobs in the coming years. Both announcements signify a significant boost to India’s semiconductor and technology manufacturing capabilities.
