718 Myanmar Nationals Illegally Enter Manipur Last Week

Amid ongoing tensions between the Kuki and Meitei communities in Manipur, the influx of Myanmar’s people into the state shows no signs of abating. Last week, 718 Myanmar nationals illegally entered Manipur, including 301 children. As per the statement by Ministry of Home Affairs, the highest number of people crossed the Myanmar border into Manipur’s Chandel district on July 22-23. The situation continues to pose challenges for authorities dealing with the sensitive issue.
